Toulouse Olympique at Ernest-Wallon
Toulouse Olympique was founded on 22 October 1937, decades before its professional side made Ernest-Wallon its regular home in 2020. Earlier league rugby in the city included teams at Empalot and in the Minimes district. The club’s history therefore extends well beyond the modern groundshare, with the blue-and-white Olympique identity distinct from the red-and-black Stade Toulousain rugby union team.
Ernest-Wallon was inaugurated in 1983, according to the French culture ministry’s sporting-heritage presentation. The present stadium belongs to the Sept Deniers sporting landscape; its opening date is separate from Olympique’s 1937 foundation and its 2020 arrival. Those three dates describe the building, the league club and the start of their continuing association respectively.
The groundshare agreement was announced in August 2019 after Ernest-Wallon had already hosted Olympique’s Championship match against Toronto that season. Love Rugby League reported that Toronto’s defeat there was its only loss of the season. The agreement brought the city’s professional league side into the established home of its union counterpart, giving Olympique a larger setting for its English-competition fixtures.
The 2019 Toronto match ended 46–16 to Toulouse. The club’s account identifies it as an exceptional relocation to Ernest-Wallon before the following season’s permanent groundshare. Toulouse finished second in the Championship that year, then beat York in a home play-off before travelling back to Toronto and eventually losing to Featherstone after the return journey to France.
Olympique’s honours include six French championships: 1965, 1973, 1975, 2000, 2014 and 2015. Its first Lord Derby Cup victory came in 2014, following six losing finals across the earlier decades. The club also lists Championship titles in 2021 and 2025, marking two eras of success: the French domestic years and the later competition with British professional clubs.

Promotion night and the defeat of St Helens
The 2021 promotion final at Ernest-Wallon ended Toulouse 34, Featherstone 12. Mathieu Jussaume scored twice, with Latrell Schaumkel, Harrison Hansen and Johnathan Ford also crossing. Mark Kheirallah kicked seven goals from eight attempts. The victory took Olympique into Super League and extended the team’s winning run to 20 matches, making it a defining league occasion at the shared stadium.
Toulouse led that final 16–0 before Featherstone recovered in the second half. Jussaume’s second try steadied the home side, and late scores from Hansen and Ford secured the result. Rémi Casty confirmed his retirement after the match, while fellow former Catalans players Tony Gigot and Éloi Pélissier were central to the performance that delivered promotion.
On 19 March 2022, Olympique earned its first Super League victory by beating St Helens 22–20 at Ernest-Wallon. The visitors arrived unbeaten and as three-time defending champions. Toulouse trailed 12–14 at half-time before Paul Marcon’s late try completed the upset. The club’s match report records the stadium’s eruption at that finish, a landmark memory from its first top-flight season.
The first Super League derby staged in Toulouse brought Catalans Dragons to Ernest-Wallon on 25 August 2022. Olympique reported a crowd of almost 10,000 for the occasion. Catalans won the match, which also closed Toulouse’s home programme that season; the significance lay in two French clubs meeting in the English competition at the same Toulouse ground used for the promotion final.

Ancely tram and the L1 connection
Olympique gives Ancely, on tram T1, as an arrival point about 15 minutes’ walk from Ernest-Wallon. The club’s destination address is 114 rue des Troènes, 31200 Toulouse. Ancely is the tram stop associated with this published walking time; the club also offers a different public-transport approach using Metro B followed by a bus.
For the Metro-and-bus route, Olympique directs supporters to Compans-Caffarelli on line B, then bus L1 to Lully. Its cycling information names VélôToulouse station 287 on rue des Troènes and station 308 at the entrance to car park C. The two bicycle docks provide identifiable arrival points immediately around the stadium complex rather than a general instruction to cycle towards Sept Deniers.
Tisséo’s airport-project information explains that bus 31 was introduced to maintain access to the airport, Nadot and Daurat while tram T2 was closed for construction. The future airport line is designed to connect with T1 and Metro C at the new Blagnac interchange. Ancely’s stadium walk remains useful, but reaching the tram from the airport involves the operator’s current connections.
Olympique’s February 2026 Castleford guide reserved car park A for listed guests, partners, disabled supporters and parking subscribers. The club’s stadium travel page separately warns that parking around Ernest-Wallon is limited. Parking A is therefore a controlled allocation within the ground’s arrangements, with an Olympique match guide specifying who may use it.
Our advice (opinion): We would favour the T1 tram to Ancely when it fits the city journey, followed by Olympique’s stated 15-minute walk to Ernest-Wallon.

The Bodega, Bar 3 and Red Zone
The March 2026 St Helens guide identifies Bar 3 at gate 13 in the East Stand, alongside the Bodega refreshment bar. On the forecourt, the club advertised its official shop, the 2026 Hummel range, flags and clappers. These named locations are useful landmarks within Olympique’s match setup, particularly the distinction between an East Stand bar and the Bodega gathering area.
That St Helens programme introduced mascot Rami alongside players for photographs and autographs, and included an MEsport gaming stand. After the game, supporters were invited to the Bodega for a DJ set. The forecourt entertainment, club shop and post-match music were all elements of a documented Olympique event at Ernest-Wallon, extending the visit beyond the eighty minutes on the pitch.
Olympique’s matchday page names DJ Red Zone as part of its pre-match and post-match entertainment. It describes partner and association stalls, food trucks and two merchandise areas. The Bodega is the advertised post-match meeting place, with food service continuing after the final whistle and opportunities to meet players for conversation, signatures and photographs.
The club’s supporter FAQ permits small bags or backpacks up to its example dimensions of 40 by 30 by 18 centimetres. It allows outside food and plastic water bottles with their caps removed, while prohibiting flasks. Those are Olympique’s published entry conditions for its events, and are especially relevant if arriving with food bought elsewhere in Toulouse.
The official online shop offers collection at Ernest-Wallon, at 114 rue des Troènes, only on Toulouse Olympique home matchdays. An order intended for collection therefore links to the league club’s home programme. The shop’s FAQ directs order-related queries to contact@to13.com with the order number, giving supporters a concrete contact for purchases rather than relying on a stadium reception desk.
Our pick (opinion): The Bodega would be our first place to look for the club’s post-match programme, especially when a home-match notice advertises music there.

Close seating, a hybrid pitch and panoramic hospitality
The French sports ministry describes Ernest-Wallon’s main surface as reinforced natural grass of the GrassMaster type. The complex also contains a grass training pitch, two approved synthetic pitches and a 400-square-metre indoor training hall. The ministry identifies both Stade Toulousain teams and Toulouse Olympique’s professional matches as users of the site, explaining the visible training infrastructure around the main arena.
The ministry’s venue profile highlights stands close to the playing surface and lists 18,679 seated places. Stade Toulousain’s visitor page describes the main arena more broadly as having over 19,000 places. The seating figure and the broader venue total are different published measures; the at-a-glance capacity follows the host club’s deliberately rounded description with the seating count stated separately. ;.
Olympique markets its Ernest-Wallon hospitality in a panoramic lounge overlooking the pitch. The club’s partner network includes La Table Ovale, established in 1995, and Ovale 13 Business Club. La Table Ovale brings together regional businesspeople for dinners, while the matchday lounge provides the stadium-based hospitality setting with a direct view of the rugby.
At the separate Arnauné ground, also called the Stade des Minimes, the named Galia stand featured in Olympique’s August 2025 York arrangements. Season-card holders were directed there for that relocated match. Arnauné’s Galia stand belongs to the Minimes venue, not Ernest-Wallon; its appearance in old tickets and travel guides reflects a genuine change of ground for those fixtures.

The club contact and reserved parking
Olympique names Guillaume Costard as its contact for spectators with disabilities, reached through contact@to13.com or 05 61 57 80 00. Its accessibility wording specifically welcomes supporters to Ernest-Wallon. The named representative is the direct point of contact for the league club’s seating and entry arrangements at a venue shared with a separate rugby union organisation.
For the March 2026 St Helens match, parking A included an allocation for disabled supporters, while parking areas B, C, D, E, F and G were opened to the public. The same notice included named-list guests, partners, subscribers and parking-ticket holders within parking A’s arrangements. This divides the parking provision by eligibility rather than treating all stadium car parks as equivalent.
For the August 2025 York game at Arnauné, accessible entry used the stadium parking entrance on avenue Frédéric Estèbe. Viewing positions were identified at the foot of the Galia stand and in the East terrace. The temporary ground’s instructions also placed the ticket offices on avenue Frédéric Estèbe and closed the entrance on the Avenir des Minimes side.

Ponts Jumeaux accommodation and The Danu
Ibis Toulouse Ponts Jumeaux is at 99 boulevard de la Marquette, 31000 Toulouse, on the Canal du Midi. Accor lists double, twin and triple rooms. Its canal-side location gives it a different setting from the central hotels around Place Wilson, and its own published address provides a clear accommodation landmark when comparing the Sept Deniers side of town with the historic centre.
The Danu is a sports pub at 9 rue du Pont Guilheméry, 31000 Toulouse. Its own website presents live sport as a central part of the offer, with televisions around the pub and food-and-drink menus. This is a Toulouse city venue for a separate stop before or after a stadium trip, rather than a bar within Ernest-Wallon’s concourse.
Toulouse Tourisme dates The Danu’s pub operation to 2004 and describes its English-pub character and sporting focus. The address is near the city’s Pont Guilheméry district, distinct from the stadium’s rue des Troènes address. For travelling rugby supporters, the combination of a named pub, verified address and established sports identity is more useful than an unspecified recommendation to find a bar in town.

Tours and Olympique’s other home venues
Manatour’s Ernest-Wallon All Access Tour includes the honours wall, international-players wall, dressing rooms, stands, pitchside and training areas. The published visit lasts about ninety minutes and is conducted in French. It explores the home and working environment of Stade Toulousain, the union club, while giving an Olympique visitor a closer look at the shared stadium’s facilities.
Manatour requires online reservations for individuals and groups and advertises the visit during Zone C school holidays, subject to the site being available. The meeting address is 114 rue des Troènes, 31200 Toulouse. Dressing-room and training-area access forms part of the advertised itinerary, with the operator retaining the ability to modify the route around the stadium’s working requirements.
In 2023, Ernest-Wallon served as Japan’s Rugby World Cup base, preventing Olympique from using it for its August home fixtures. The club announced relocations to Carcassonne and Albi, both established rugby league locations. Those games illustrate why an Olympique fixture can have a home designation while taking place outside Toulouse, even when Ernest-Wallon is the professional side’s regular stadium.
The August 2025 return to Arnauné for Sheffield and York brought another different matchday arrangement: La Rosa Negra supplied food and drink, with a DJ, autograph area and esports activity near the reception space. Holders of the usual Ernest-Wallon parking-A entitlement were directed to reserved parking at the Toulouse Lautrec sports complex, 26 impasse Barthe, for the York fixture.
